Welcome from the Department Head
Welcome to the James Madison University Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders! We are delighted that you are interested in our programs of study. We have designed this interactive portal to share with you the many opportunities available to future students, clinicians, teachers, and researchers.
The Clinical Doctorate in Audiology (Au.D.) and the M.S. in Speech-Language Pathology programs are accredited by the Council for Academic Accreditation (CAA) through the American Speech-Language and Hearing Association. Our departmental vision is, “we will be recognized for bridging science and clinical practice.” We are achieving this vision through our state-of-the-art facilities, stellar faculty, and comprehensive programming for both undergraduate and graduate studies in audiology, speech-language pathology, or speech and hearing sciences. James Madison University is the sole university in the Commonwealth of Virginia to offer this array of CSD program options. We are pleased that our programs are recognized for their quality and outstanding student outcomes. U.S News & World Report on “America’s Best Graduate Schools” has consistently ranked the CSD graduate programs in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology among the top programs in the United States.
On behalf of our faculty and staff, it is our hope that our commitment to producing outstanding graduates will match your goals for an extraordinary education!
