Welcome from the Interim Department Head

Welcome to the James Madison University Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders! We are delighted that you are interested in our programs of study. These webpages will provide you with important information about our programs, faculty and our students.

We are proud to offer the following programs of study to meet your educational needs:

Through these programs we offer students a rich combination of academics, clinical education and research experiences. As engaged learners of the JMU community, you will experience the dedication and commitment of our faculty, and the collegiality of diverse students committed to fulfilling their goals of becoming communication sciences and disorders professionals. Our curriculum is carefully designed to maximize your tuition dollars while providing an exceptional educational experience.

We offer a variety of clinical experiences created to support your learning. The majority of students start their clinical education providing evidence-based services in audiology and speech-language pathology in our in-house clinic. From there, our talented staff members offer assistance in securing placements throughout the state and nation, including but not limited to acute care, rehab and VA hospitals, private practice and educationally based settings.
