Frequently Asked Questions

JMU CSD uses the Typhon Allied Health Student Tracking System for all student clinical placements to document clinical hours, midterm and final evaluations, progression of clinical skills, and progression toward meeting graduation requirements.

If you are new to Typhon,

  • You will receive an email from “Susan Ingram [via Typhon Group]” providing you with a Sign-in Login and Password (SLAP) in order to access the system
  • Login to establish your account and update your information by uploading your ASHA information and state license.
  • If you have questions or need assistance, please review the instructions link here or contact us!

You will access Typhon weekly to approve student hours.  Students are responsible for entering case logs for each client/group of clients that they see each day they are at their placement. The student will log the hours in the appropriate categories (diagnostic/treatment; disorder) and include information including basic demographics, ICD-10, and CPT codes.

Additionally, you will complete student evaluations at midterm and final through the Typhon system.

Yes. Simply select “Save progress and exit” until you have completed the entire survey. This survey will remain in your “In Progress”  evaluations. When you have completed the survey, you can simply select “Submit Survey.” Please keep in mind that once submitted, edits cannot be made to the evaluation.

If you want to “Save progress and exit” a survey that you are working on, you must select a matrix question response in order to save the comments entered into the corresponding "Additional Comment" box. If no response is selected then the system will qualify it as an incomplete answer and any comments will be lost and comments cannot be retrieved.
