Jennifer Smart, Ph.D.

After receiving her Ph.D. from James Madison University, Dr. Smart went on to complete a post-doctoral research fellowship at the University of Auckland in New Zealand.  In 2008 she started her career at Towson University in Towson, Maryland as an Assistant Professor.  She recently became the Director of the Audiology Graduate Program at TU.  Dr. Smart has authored or co-authored six peer-reviewed publications and one textbook chapter. She has presented over 40 papers (or posters) at regional, national and international conferences. She also teaches a variety of different courses in the Au.D. program.  Dr. Smart is active in the community.  She currently serves on the Board of Trustees for the Maryland School for the Deaf and she is the Director of Healthy Hearing for Special Olympics of Maryland.
